Bill C-458

About Bill C-458:

Bill C-458 proposes to extend the tax deadline for charitable donations, so that eligible donations made up until the last day of February may be claimed in the previous calendar year. Bill C-458 will also establish the last seven days of February as National Charities Week in Canada.

Bill C-458 passed second reading unanimously in the House of Commons on May 29, 2013, and the bill will now be studied in detail by the Standing Committee on Finance.
